On October 6, the 2024 Marr Fund Team will participate in the Maine Marathon, Half-Marathon, Relay, and Virtual event for the 10th year. Established by the Marr family, the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer's Research Fund at Brigham and Women's Hospital directly supports novel and early-stage research aimed at preventing Alzheimer's disease.
We now know that Alzheimer’s begins 20 years or more before the onset of symptoms. The Marr family–together with world-renowned researchers at the Brigham–are focused on finding a way to stop Alzheimer’s disease altogether. Backed by more than 30 years of research, Dr. Reisa Sperling and her team are pioneering innovative approaches to advance the prevention and treatment of this devastating disease, including world-wide prevention clinical trials. You can read more about the research here: https://give.brighamandwomens.org/marr-fund/
The Marr Fund team has already made a great impact on furthering Alzheimer’s prevention research. Thanks to the Brigham, corporate sponsors and all of the 5,143 donors we have raised $4.9M over the 10 years.
Over the past 9 years I have participated in the Maine Marathon to raise funds for the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer's fund at Brigham and Women's hospital. I stood on the side lines and handed out water and rang my bell in support of all the runners. This year I have decided to lace up my sneakers and run in the 3rd leg of relay team. (5.7 miles).
I hope I can count on you to support my run by contributing to this very important cause. 100% of the donations to the Marr Fund go toward research. Thank you for joining me in this fight to prevent Alzheimer's. Together we can make a difference- now and for future generations.
With much gratitude,
Ina
