Kartik's Boston Marathon 2025 Fundraising Page

Give Now

TL;DR: Will miss the world record by at least 2 hours, but hope you will still donate to help those facing trauma.

Greetings!

Running is fun. Running while raising money for charity is very satisfying and fun.

I am running the Boston Marathon in April 2025 to raise money for the Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. I'm about 2 hours slower than the current world record, but hopefully that doesn't stop you from donating! If you are a US tax resident, you can get a tax deduction on your donation.

Boston 2025 is an even more special marathon for me for two reasons. I lived in Boston for two years - this is like my "home" race. It will also be my final race to complete all the 6 World Major Marathons to get my Six Star Medal. Only about 13,000 out of 8 billion people in the world have completed this series, so it is a coveted medal. I've already successfully run the other 5 majors - Berlin, New York, London, Chicago and Tokyo - with all the accompanying aches and pains.

But none of this discomfort is even close to what trauma patients have to go through. Some of you are aware that I have had a bad back for most of my adult life. But, I have tried to make the best of my situation with different forms of exercise. I've found running to provide me with an activity that helps me eat, sleep and move better to control my back issues. Now, I am running for a bigger cause to raise money for trauma research so that others can also find relief and make the best of their lives. I hope that I can count on your help.

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly to the Stepping Strong Center. Thanks for your support! If you have any running tips you'd like to share, I'd be excited to learn from you.

Wishing you a great end of 2024 and great 2025. If you are looking for me over the next few months, you'll likely find me doing laps of Hyde Park come rain, shine or snow!
