MICHAEL VOIGHTS JOURNEY TO BOSTON ! FUNDRAISING !
From the moment I started running long distances everyone always asked me if I was going to run boston? The answer was always “anything is possible” in the future! After two marathons and countless other races and the urge to push myself I started my journey to get into the Prestigious Boston race. I thought I would just have to be lucky or get really really fast but then I found the stepping strong team! People take their lives for granted but im a firm believer in giving back. Thats why i am apart of multiple charity’s and now supporting the 2025 stepping strong marathon team !
With a mission of Turning tragedy into hope. A message I’m able to believe and support in My running!
Whether you’re a normal everyday person that’s experienced a traumatic event or an American hero injured in the line of duty you need the best cutting edge care and innovative technology to get you back on track! Being a board member for uconn coach geno auriemmas charity “geno for the kids” for the connecticut children’s hospital I know first hand what a charity team can do and what private funding can bring to a family or person in need.
The mission of The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation is to catalyze trauma innovation for injured civilians and military heroes, through multidisciplinary investigative collaborations across the continuum of trauma care, from prevention to treatment and recovery.
Things like advanced Research , Additional training to benefit doctors, support for tragedy survivors , collaborations for futuristic procedures are made possible as a result of the countless donations toward the Gillian Reny stepping strong foundation.
If possible, help me reach my goal, by donating to the Stepping Strong 2025 marathon team, a team I am proud to be a part of.
Below from stepping strong !! A center for innovation
- Trauma is the number one cause of death for people 44 or younger, ahead of cancer and heart disease.
- Traumatic injuries comprise 40% of visits to emergency departments.
- More than $2 trillion per year is spent on decreased productivity, work loss, and medical costs due to traumatic injuries.
- Despite the significant burden of trauma, less than 2% of federal funding is allocated toward trauma research, inhibiting our ability to understand how to prevent, treat, and improve recovery from traumatic injury.
