My Fundraising Page

As President of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, I have the privilege of leading an exceptional community of caregivers, innovators, and thought leaders—a community that goes above and beyond for our patients, their families, and one another. Every day, I witness this commitment in action: on our inpatient floors, in our clinics, at the lab bench, and out in the communities we serve. And every day, I’m filled with tremendous pride for our staff and the difference they are making in the world around them.
On Monday, April 21, I have the chance to give back to this community that offers so much when I lace up my sneakers to run the 129th Boston Marathon as part of the Brigham Stepping Strong Marathon Team—my second time running as part of this inspiring team. Combining two of my greatest passions—the Brigham and running—I’ll be raising critical funds for the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center.
Since its founding, the Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation has transformed a moment of tragedy into a powerful force for change. Over the past eleven years, it has evolved into a thriving hub at the Brigham where trauma research drives innovation, educational programs empower communities, advocacy inspires progress, and clinical practices are reimagined—impacting lives in tremendous ways. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, the Stepping Strong Center continues to expand its reach, touching the lives of trauma survivors through groundbreaking initiatives. In 2024-2025 alone:
- $650,000 awarded to accelerate innovative research projects
- 190+ published studies advancing trauma care
- $82,000+ provided to support patients’ essential life needs
- 840+ people trained in lifesaving emergency response skills
At the heart of Stepping Strongs mission are the trauma patients whose lives can be transformed through evidence-based research and initiatives.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
