I am a 45-year-old fire survivor from Sweden. At 17, I was caught in a nightclub fire that killed 63 young people and left me with life-changing injuries. I lost my left arm just below the elbow, four fingers on my right hand, my left eye, and suffered severe burns over 30% of my body. My right foot and ankle were badly damaged, and I spent months in a medically induced coma, losing almost half my body weight. It took a year to learn to walk again.

For many years, life was about surviving. But five years ago, I decided to challenge myself: I began training to run my hometown half marathon. It was the hardest thing I had ever done, but finishing it gave me hope and showed me what is possible when you refuse to give up. That journey sparked a dream — to run full marathons, and one day, to complete all six Abbott World Marathon Majors.

After years of research and perseverance, I was fortunate to undergo osseointegration surgery and later try a prosthetic arm that changed my life, giving me balance and renewed strength to run. Running has become not just a physical challenge, but a symbol of resilience, recovery, and hope.

Now, I am facing my greatest challenge yet: Finishing the Boston Marathon and thereby completing all six Majors. But this is not just about running. I have the incredible opportunity to fundraise for The Stepping Strong Center, an organization dedicated to transforming trauma care and helping survivors rebuild their lives. Their work is deeply personal to me — I know firsthand the pain, the struggle, and the courage it takes to survive a life-altering trauma. Supporting Stepping Strong means giving hope, care, and opportunity to people who, like me, have faced devastating injuries and are working to reclaim their lives.

Your support makes a real difference. Every donation helps fund cutting-edge research, improves trauma care, trains future leaders in trauma response, and raises awareness to prevent future injuries. By donating, you are helping to turn tragedy into hope, and to give survivors the chance to rebuild their lives stronger than ever.

Please help me reach my goal of $10,000. Donate now to support The Stepping Strong Center and make a tangible difference in the lives of trauma survivors. Your contribution is more than a gift — it is a lifeline.
