I’m incredibly excited to be running the Boston Marathon this year. It’s an iconic race that represents resilience, determination and community spirit, and I’m proud to be part of it.
I’m especially honoured to be running for the Stepping Strong Boston Marathon Team. The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital was founded after the 2013 Boston Marathon tragedy, inspired by survivor Gillian Reny, who was treated at the Brigham for life-threatening injuries. In response, her family helped establish the Centre to advance trauma care and recovery. Today, it funds innovative research into serious injury treatment, supports breakthroughs in limb reconstruction and rehabilitation, trains trauma specialists, and promotes injury prevention and emergency response training.
This is a Boston charity with deep roots in the marathon and a tangible impact on people’s lives. I’m proud to run for a team that turns adversity into progress, and grateful for any support as I take on 26.2 miles to help continue that work.
