I’m Running the 130th Boston Marathon for the Stepping Strong Center, and I Need Your Help

Give Now

Hi everyone! I'm Ally Perleoni, and this April, I have the privilege of running the 130th Boston Marathon as part of the Brigham Stepping Strong Marathon Team.

I am passionate about the mission of our nation’s teaching hospitals, and I've centered my career around advocating for the life-saving care, groundbreaking research, world-class training, and everyday miracles that happen within these institutions. I am also an avid runner, and even though I now live in Washington, DC, I will always be a New Englander at heart.

This April, I have the privilege of connecting those passions by raising funds for an organization whose work extends far beyond Boston and benefits people and communities across the country.

I’ve run seven marathons before, but this time my miles will support a cause that aligns with both my personal commitment to running and my professional commitment to advancing academic medicine. My fundraising commitment is $15,000, and I would be so grateful for your support.

Why Stepping Strong Matters, Everywhere

On April 15, 2013, near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, Gillian Reny’s life changed forever. Her survival, and her ability to walk again, were made possible by the extraordinary trauma team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In gratitude, her family founded the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation, which today leads work that impacts trauma care nationwide.

Trauma is the leading cause of death for people aged 44 and younger in the United States. Whether injuries stem from accidents, natural disasters, violence, military service, or everyday emergencies, trauma touches families in every state, in every community.

That’s why the Stepping Strong Center’s work matters to all of us, no matter where we live.

What Your Support Makes Possible

The Stepping Strong Center advances trauma care through innovation, research, education, and advocacy that benefit patients and health systems across the country:

  • Fueling Research: Supporting groundbreaking studies that improve survival and recovery for trauma patients everywhere.
  • Reimagining Care: Developing new approaches that redefine best practices and elevate care far beyond the Boston area.
  • Advancing Education: Training trauma leaders and empowering communities nationwide to respond in emergencies.
  • Inspiring Advocacy: Promoting policies and prevention strategies that strengthen public safety across the U.S.

As a philanthropically funded center, Stepping Strong relies entirely on donors to drive these life-changing efforts forward.

Join Me

When you donate to my marathon run, you’re not just supporting a race; you’re supporting a national mission that helps people across the country survive trauma, heal more fully, and rebuild their lives. You’re helping ensure that moments of tragedy can someday become stories of resilience and recovery.

Thank you, truly, for being part of this effort.

Let’s make these miles matter, together!
