Andrew Rusis' Fundraising Page
I am excited and proud to have the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon on the Brigham Stepping Strong Team to raise funds for a great cause: the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center. It is a solely philanthropically funded center that unites healthcare professionals, and community members to revolutionize trauma care and rebuild lives. I am asking for your support to my goal to raise $15k for the the team.
The Center was established by the family of Gillian Reny who was standing near the Boston Marathon finish line on April 15th, 2013 when the senseless act of violence left her with traumatic injuries. The medical team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital saved her life. Today, through the generous support of donors, the Reny family and many others, the Stepping Strong Center continues to transform how we prevent, treat, and recover from traumatic injury, the leading cause of death for people ages 44 and younger in the United States.
Here's how:
- Fuel Research: supporting clinical studies and collaborative projects that accelerate solutions and improve trauma patient outcomes
- Reimagine Care: embracing the latest research to redefine best practices and transform trauma care for survivors
- Advance Education: training the next generation of trauma leaders and empower the public to respond to trauma
- Inspire Advocacy: championing trauma survivors and injury prevention by raising awareness, supporting policy initiatives, and improving public safety
Being able to help the center that has helped so many is a great honor. I want to thank you for taking the time to read about the Stepping Strong Team, what it represents, and for supporting the mission of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Reny family.
