Running on the Harvard Medical School campus
Running on the Harvard Medical School campus

The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation at Brigham and Women's Hospital was founded after Gillian's life was saved following the 2013 Boston Marathon tragedy.

The Stepping Strong Center unites healthcare professionals, scientists, and the community to:

  • Fuel research that accelerates solutions and improves recovery for trauma patients
  • Support patients throughout their recovery
  • Advance education to train the next generation of trauma leaders
  • Inspire advocacy for injury prevention and public safety

Your support directly funds these life-changing programs and helps turn tragedy into progress for trauma survivors around the world. As a solely philanthropically funded center, we depend on generous donations like yours to sustain our life-changing programs and iniatives.

About Me
I'm a 25-year-old visiting research scholar from Switzerland spending a year at Harvard Medical School. I work in neurorehabilitation, and my lifelong goal is to help people regain movement and independence after injury or illness.
Beyond the lab, running has always been my way of pushing limits and finding purpose. This time, I want every mile to represent someone's journey to heal. During my year in Boston, it's an honor to run as part of the Stepping Strong Marathon Team, raising awareness for trauma recovery and turning effort on the road into hope and progress for others.
Thank you for supporting the Stepping Strong Center and for believing, as I do, that science and compassion together can rebuild lives. Each act of support, whether it's a donation or sharing this campaign, helps me move closer to my goal and fuels hope for those on their journey to heal. I'm deeply grateful for your kindness and belief in this cause.

Brigham and Women's Hospital is a proud partner of the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program.
