Lauryn's Fundraising Page
The Stepping Strong Foundation was founded in the aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing to honor Gillian Reny, who was severely injured that day. Thanks to the expert trauma care she received at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Gillian survived. Her family established the foundation to give back by transforming the field of trauma medicine. Today, Stepping Strong funds groundbreaking research, medical innovations, and education programs that advance trauma recovery and injury prevention. Traumatic injury is the leading cause of death among Americans aged 44 and younger, making Stepping Strong's mission to advance trauma care and prevention more vital than ever. The work supported by Stepping Strong does not just impact patients in Boston; it fuels discoveries that save lives and improve trauma care across the world. Here's how:
- Fuel Research: We support clinical studies and collaborative projects that accelerate solutions and improve trauma patient outcomes
- Reimagine Care: We embrace the latest research to redefine best practices and transform trauma care for survivors
- Advance Education: We train the next generation of trauma leaders and empower the public to respond to trauma
- Inspire Advocacy: We champion trauma survivors and injury prevention by raising awareness, supporting policy initiatives, and improving public safety
Brigham and Women's Hospital is a proud partner of the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program.
