He is back! Running the 2024 Boston Marathon was truly a highlight in my life. Not only was it challenging and helped me grow as a person, but was also rewarding running for a charity that does so much as Stepping Strong. Learning the story of the charity, the research that is done, and meeting the Renys and everyone working on the team was eye opening and inspiring. I thought I would be one and done running marathons. It was extremely difficult and taxing and after finishing it, I felt rewarded but fulfilled.

Watching the 2025 Boston Marathon, I really had FOMO (fear of missing out) on the day of the race. It was great cheering some friends on and being around the finish line but the feelings from 2024 came flooding back. I knew that I had to run again and what solidified it was stopping by the Revere Hotel, the after party place for Stepping Strong. I talked to some team organizers and shared my feelings and they said I would be welcomed back anytime. Since that day I knew I was running again and knew it would be for Stepping Strong again.

I love the team and the marathon and am beyond excited to be back. I have some friends running as well and that will be some extra motivation for us all. I appreciate everyone’s support and welcome you to learn more about the Stepping Strong cause and consider making a donation to my run. Thank you!!

Standing near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, Gillian Reny's life changed forever. A senseless act of violence left her with traumatic injuries, but the efforts of a multidisciplinary medical team at Brigham and Women's Hospital saved her life and legs. In gratitude, her family established The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation at the Brigham, where today, Gillian's strength drives a relentless pursuit to transform how we prevent, treat, and recover from traumatic injury, the leading cause of death for people ages 44 and younger in the United States. The Stepping Strong Center unites healthcare professionals, policymakers, and community members to revolutionize trauma care and rebuild lives.
