I am thrilled to share I am running the 130th Boston Marathon on April 20th, 2026, with the Brigham & Women’s Hospital Stepping Strong Team to raise funds for a great cause: The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation.
Growing up in Holliston, the town over from the start line, I frequented the course throughout my childhood. On race days, my family and I would arrive ready to cheer on the runners from the sidelines. Since a very young age, watching my dad complete the historic race, it has been a dream of mine to run the Boston Marathon. It is one of the most inspiring events to witness, let alone participate in. Finally, it’s my turn and I feel incredibly honored to do this with Stepping Strong. With your support, come Patriots’ Day, I hope to reach my goal of raising $11K for the team. Every dollar counts and no donation is too little.
Turning tragedy into hope, the Stepping Strong Center was established by the family of Gillian Reny who was standing near the Boston Marathon finish line on April 15th, 2013, when a senseless act of violence left her with traumatic injuries. The medical team at BWH saved her life and legs. Today, through the generous support of donors, the Reny family and many others, the Stepping Strong Center continues to transform how we prevent, treat, and recover from traumatic injury, the leading cause of death for people ages 44 and younger in the United States. The Center unites healthcare professionals, policymakers, and community members to revolutionize trauma care and rebuild lives on both a local and national scale.
Here's how:
- Fuel Research: supporting clinical studies and collaborative projects that accelerate solutions and improve trauma patient outcomes
- Reimagine Care: embracing the latest research to redefine best practices and transform trauma care for survivors
- Advance Education: training the next generation of trauma leaders and empower the public to respond to trauma
- Inspire Advocacy: championing trauma survivors and injury prevention by raising awareness, supporting policy initiatives, and improving public safety.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions about how to donate and/or want to offer any words of encouragement/wisdom— physical checks will be accepted and make sure to ask your company if they have a Matching Gift Program!
I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to read about the Stepping Strong Team and for supporting the mission of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Reny family.
