Molly McEnroe's Fundraising Page!
I am excited to announce that I will be running the 2025 Boston Marathon on April 21st, as part of the Brigham Stepping Strong Team. This journey is not just a personal challenge; it’s a heartfelt mission to support those impacted by traumatic injuries, especially traumatic brain injuries, which have profoundly affected my life.
In 2012, my world changed when I experienced a traumatic brain injury. The road to recovery was long and filled with obstacles, but it also ignited a fire within me to raise awareness and support for others facing similar challenges. The resilience and strength I witnessed in my recovery inspired me to give back to the community that supported me through the toughest times.
In 2013, Boston was changed forever when a beautiful Marathon Monday turned into a senseless tragedy. Gillian Reny, then a high school senior, was one of 39 critically injured patients rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where doctors and nurses saved her life and legs. With gratitude to the Brigham, the Reny family established The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation to help other trauma patients regain their strength and ability to step strong once again.
The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation aims to catalyze trauma innovation for injured civilians and military heroes through multidisciplinary investigative collaborations across the continuum of trauma care, from prevention to treatment and recovery. Stepping Strong-funded initiatives are making a profound impact on trauma survivors and their families worldwide. The center has raised more than $30 million to fuel trauma research, advance education, build community, and inspire advocacy. But much more needs to be done.
Why I’m Running:
To Honor Others: I run for everyone who has been impacted by a traumatic injury—those who have faced physical, emotional, and psychological challenges. Your stories fuel my determination.
To Support Research and Care: Funds raised through my efforts will directly support innovative research, rehabilitation programs, and patient care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Together, we can help improve outcomes for those affected by traumatic injuries.
To Inspire Hope: My journey symbolizes the belief that we can overcome obstacles, no matter how daunting. I want to show others that recovery is possible, and there is a community of support waiting to embrace them.
