On Monday, April 21, 2025, I will be running the Boston Marathon for the second time!
Running this iconic race holds a special place in my heart, and I’m excited to return to Boston to continue supporting a cause that means so much to me: The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation.
Back in 2013, the Boston Marathon became forever linked to both tragedy and resilience when a senseless act of violence changed the lives of so many. Among the victims was Gillian Reny, a high school senior who was critically injured in the bombing. Thanks to the care she received at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Gillian not only survived, but also regained the use of both her legs. In gratitude for her recovery, the Reny family established the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation to support others facing similar challenges.
The Stepping Strong Center focuses on advancing trauma care through research and innovative treatments. By bringing together medical professionals, researchers, and survivors, the center is transforming the lives of trauma patients, from the moment of injury through treatment and recovery. To date, Stepping Strong has raised over $27 million, funding critical initiatives that are making a global impact on trauma care.
As I prepare to run the 2025 Boston Marathon, I’m hoping you’ll join me in supporting this incredible cause. Every contribution helps provide life-changing care to those affected by trauma, and together, we can continue to honor the spirit of Boston Strong.
Thank you for your support!
