The POPI Seeds
In what's become the deadliest drug epidemic in our country's history, opioid use has claimed the lives of more Americans than were killed in the entire Vietnam War. In 2018 alone, more than 47,000 people lost their lives to this tragic scourge.
In the United States, chronic pain is a significant public health problem that affects over 100 million people and produces an estimated annual cost of about $635 billion.
The mission of the Brigham Health Program in Opioid and Pain Innovation (POPI) is to lead the evolution of research in pain management and opioid use disorder treatment within the U.S. and around the world.
Community fundraisers like me are proud to fuel quality patient care, innovative training, and life-changing discoveries that will benefit patients here in Boston and around the world.
Please join me in supporting POPI at the Brigham—give now! Together we can transform the future of medicine.
