We can make a difference!
Over a million lives have been lost to drug overdose in the past 20 years, and the trend is worsening in the setting of the COVID pandemic. In Massachusetts, over 2,000 of our friends, family and community members have lost their lives to opioid overdose each year for the past five years.
Meanwhile, chronic pain is a significant public health problem that affects over 100 million people and produces an estimated annual cost of about $635 billion.
The Mission of the Brigham Health Program in Opioid and Pain Innovation (POPI) is to confront these issues head-on, advancing cutting edge research in pain management and opioid use disorder treatment leveraging the brain power and talent of Brigham and Women’s clinicians and researchers.
Your valued donation will help support novel research projects aimed to curb the opioid overdose epidemic and treat pain more effectively and safely.
Please join me in supporting POPI at the Brigham—give now! Together we can transform the future of medicine.
