The Division of Women's Health Fundraiser for Bridges to Moms
The Division of Women's Health is celebrating Women's History Month by choosing a women's charity to support each year. This year, we've chosen to donate to Bridges to Moms.
Brigham and Women's Hospital is world-renowned for its Obstetrics care, especially for women facing difficult pregnancies. But when women face barriers to accessing care due to housing insecurity, poverty, and domestic violence, Bridges to Moms is there to help them cross those gaps.
Established in 2016 by Dr. Roseanna Means, Bridges to Moms assists vulnerable women struggling with the social determinants of health. Between 2016 and 2022, Bridges to Moms helped over 500 women improve their housing trajectories, attend prenatal care visits, continue with care after giving birth, and more. Over 90% of the women are women of color. They are proud to say that among the women helped by Bridges to Moms, there has not been a single maternal death.
Now, Bridges to Moms needs you. The program relies on the money of generous donors to pay for daily needs like diapers, grocery gift cards, and transportation for their moms. Let's celebrate Women's History Month by making a difference to the most vulnerable women among us.
