From Colette with Love: Helping NICU Families
In early 2024, Brigham & Women’s Hospital became our home-away-from-home for 78 challenging days. Our daughter Colette spent 38 of those days in the NICU after being born prematurely at 33 weeks. Leaving the hospital each night with empty arms is a pain no parent should endure—but knowing that Colette was in the expert, compassionate care of the NICU staff made those moments bearable.
Sadly, nearly 60% of parents who have babies in the NICU are diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after their stay. The stigma around mental health, combined with limited access to care, often prevents these parents—especially mothers—from seeking the support they need. In honor of Colette’s strength and the unwavering care we received, we ask you to consider a donation to support NICU families who are facing the same struggles. Your gift will help provide vital resources to ensure other families can find the help they need during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
