Support BWH Lung Transplant Patient Assistance
As most of you know, on November 4, 2023, I received a 2nd chance at life when I underwent double lung transplant surgery. I waited over 4 years for my new lungs, then a donor angel came my way. I was at BWH and Spaulding for a total 3 months, finally going home on February 5, 2024. It’s been a bumpy road, but a new lease on life, and I will be forever grateful to my donor angel.
I am so blessed that we live so close to a Transplant Center of Excellence; I didn’t have to set up a residence in another state until I had my surgery. Not everyone is so lucky. I am also blessed that my husband has a good job with great insurance; we do not have to pay for anything. Again, a lot of people are not so lucky.
I am doing this birthday fundraiser to help those who have no choice because of distance to come to BWH. I also want to help those who do not have the health insurance that I do.
There are also other expenses such as parking, gas, and food. I got such great care at BWH, and I want each patient to have that same care and not worry about how they are going to pay for everything.
