Well...it’s been quite a year! Exactly one year ago to the day of Andrea’s party (5/19/22), Andrea was operated on by her amazing team of doctors at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Thankfully the surgery was a success, but her recovery was incredibly intense, requiring three separate week-long hospital stays throughout the summer, at home nursing care in between, and plenty of time spent with the incredible nurses on the 15th floor at BWH! 

The level of care that Andrea received while at Brigham was outstanding, but what was truly remarkable was the love, compassion and tireless commitment every nurse and aid exemplified, 24 hours a day, to help not only heal wounds but support us all (but especially Andrea) through some of the hardest moments of her life. We all know nurses are amazing, but until you experience something like we did first hand, it's hard to truly appreciate the depth of their knowledge, skill and capacity to handle just about anything with a calmness and complete committment to their patients. Once home, we experienced this again in spades, being so fortunate to have nurse Tracy guiding us through a long summer recovery. 

To celebrate this amazing one year anniversary, all that Andrea has overcome, and nurses everywhere, we will be making a contribution to the nurses on the 15th floor at Brigham & Women's Hospital and we invite you to do the same in lieu of any birthday gifts for Andrea, as there’s nothing she would want more!
