My Fundraising Page
I’ve always wanted to be a sprinter, jogger running Cross Country in High School being a part of Track & Field but never tried out due to other responsibilities.
I figured I would give the Boston 10K a try and support the Southern Jamaica Plains Health Center and join their Dream Team.
My personal goal is to get myself ready and participate in a half marathon in the near future.
My goal for this 10K is to challenge myself while participating in such a great cause and hoping I can get some donors to help contribute while on my journey to the 10K
Who am I supporting you may ask?
SJPHC is one of Brigham and Women's Hospital's two licensed community health centers and part of a network of health centers in Boston reaching underserved populations. SJPHC provides high quality care services to 12,000 economically and racially diverse residents of Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park, Roslindale, and other communities in Boston and eastern Massachusetts. The Health Promotion Center (HPC), adjacent to the health center, has been part of SJPHC since 2010, and provides a dynamic space to co-create programming with patients and community partners that centers health equity and racial justice. HPC staff take an approach to health care and health education programming that seeks to address the impact that racism (a system of advantage based on race, Wellman) has on the social determinants of health, to improve health outcomes in the community.
We run for our patients, we run for racial justice, we run for health equity.
Thank you for supporting this extraordinary group of health workers and runners.
