Help Ukraine with cancer and trauma care
I am a colorectal surgeon at the Brigham and Women’s hospital/Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston and specialize in peritoneal surface malignancy and appendiceal cancer. I am originally from small town Delyatyn in Ukraine and moved to the United States when I was 18 years old. For the last 10 years I have been working very closely with Ukrainian physicians to improve care of patients with cancer in Ukraine through education. When the war started I have expanded my work to include patients suffering from trauma. We have been creating educational materials on how to stop the bleed, how to protect themselves from hazardous attack, how to perform certain surgical procedures all in Ukrainian language. With the help of Mass General Brigham Trauma Surgeons, Emergency Medicine Physicians and Center for Surgery and Public Health we are creating other educational resources that are urgently needed in Ukraine. And we are continuing our work to help Ukrainian patients with cancer as those patients are fighting two wars at this time.
Please support our work to help patients suffering from cancer and injuries in Ukraine.
