The Smith Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at BWH is the largest NICU in Massachusetts caring for nearly 3,000 premature or ill infants every year.  

The BWH Friends of the NICU program provides many benefits to families such as free meals up to 5 days a week, gift cards and toiletries, books, welcome bags for each family with necessities, educational sessions and so much more. 

The funds also support programs like music therapy, which focuses on supporting infants and parents and collaborating with the hospital staff to improve developmental outcomes. For the infants, music therapy increases tolerance for environmental stimuli, decreases stress responses during procedures, improves sleep.

I am running to keep these programs in place for families as they go through what is often a stressful experience. Please join me in supporting this program so that they may continue to provide these wonderful benefits for NICU families  at BWH.
