My team is running this year to raise funds for the Channing Network Division of Medicine Research and Division Fund, which supports pilot projects for new postdocs.

The Channing Division of Network Medicine (CDNM) is the largest research-focused division at BWH, employing around 300 people. It is home to the renowned Nurses’ Health Study, one of the largest long-term studies of women’s health. Our work leverages extensive health data and biological samples from over 300,000 individuals across various research populations to explore the factors influencing the onset and progression of complex diseases. This enables us to develop new treatments and preventive strategies for these conditions. Our multidisciplinary team of scientists creates innovative data analysis techniques and uncovers novel insights from this rich body of population-based research, leading to over 400 published scientific articles annually. Recent findings include the potential of low-dose aspirin to reduce colon cancer risk and the identification of genetic factors that raise the risk of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
