I am excited and frankly a bit nervous to run the BAA 10K this year with BWH Team GI, as "running" is a very generous description of how I move my body.  Over the past year, beloved members of our surgical community and young family members of our colleagues have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  In honor of them, all funds raised from our team will be used to support pancreatic cancer research at BWH.

We have seen enormous strides in the care of pancreatic cancer over the past 20 years, but we have so far to go.  New therapies that we could not have previously imagined have become commonplace, and we are better than ever equipped to improve the lives of our patients and their families. With further research we hope to offer a chance of cure from this disease to more and more patients. BWH and MGB have been world leaders in pancreatic research and care, and I am incredibly proud to be a member of this team.
