Andrea Baxter's Runners for Life
I am running to raise money for the Comprehensive Breast Program fund which helps drive important research, technology, and world class healthcare at both Brigham and Women's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital.
Our mission is one of compassion, kindness, equity, and respect. Our clinical team employs the latest diagnostic testing tools and procedures in order to identify breast disease at its earliest and most treatable stages.
Named after Andrea Baxter, a patient who at age 40 was newly diagnosed with breast cancer after "checking the box" to get her first annual screening, we run for life, because breast cancer is highly survivable when diagnosed early, which is possible through routine annual screening beginning at age 40. Andrea is a fighter and a personal inspiration, along with many other women in my life who have survived breast cancer!
"I run for hope, I run to feel, I run for the truth, for all that is real
I run for your mother, your sister, your wife
I run for you and me my friend, I run for life"
- Melissa Etheridge, I Run for Life
Thank you for supporting this extraordinary group of runners.
