In memory of Dennis Ackroyd
Brigham and Women’s Hospital cares for patients across New England, throughout the United States, and from 120 countries around the world. Every day, clinicians, researchers, and caregivers work to find new ways to predict, prevent, and treat the most challenging diseases of our time while delivering world-class care with a profoundly human touch.
At the time of his death, Dennis was participating in a clinical study to help further research of cardiac amyloidosis. Amyloidosis disease occurs when proteins (amyloid) build up in one or more organs of the body. When amyloid builds up in the heart tissue, it is known as cardiac amyloidosis or amyloid heart disease. Any donation made in Dennis’ memory will further support this life saving research. Special thanks to Dr. Sarah Cuddy and her team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for their compassion and care over the years.
